Volunteer Opportunities

You are probably thinking to yourself ‘I really should get more involved in the day-to-
day operations of SAL’., and you are probably saying to yourself ’I really do not have
time to actually go to the gallery to volunteer’…well... guess what!!!

Now, there are 18+ ways to volunteer, and many of them can be done from home.
Here are some ways you can participate:

⇒Show—intake, pickup, hanging, etc.
⇒Seeking event sponsors
⇒Receptions
⇒Cleaning and maintenance
⇒Fund raising
⇒Grants
⇒Membership Development
⇒Communications: Publicity Newsletter, TV/Radio media contact
⇒Telephone committee
⇒Mail outs
⇒OPTA Our Part Through Art
⇒SALT Slidell Art League Teens
⇒Art Instruction
⇒Heart Lady/Man cards, calls, visits to Members
⇒Working with children
⇒Special Projects

For those of you who can work in the gallery, docents are needed for 3-hour shifts,
10am - 1pm, 1pm - 4pm to assist the Executive Director Sharon DeLong, with the
work of the day, to answer the phone, greet visitors, ring up sales in the gift shop,
etc.

Computer skills and grant writing assistance are especially needed right now. This
can be done in the gallery or from home.

SAL must rely heavily on volunteers at this time in order for it to run efficiently
and smoothly. By volunteering just 12 hours or more per quarter, you would be
eligible for a Free Workshop of your choice.
